Who is Solid Surface Acrylics?

Over 20 years ago, DuPont wanted to build a Corian factory in Belgium but there was concern about scrap from the factory.  When it was calculated that 20 million pounds of solid Corian scrap would be going into landfills, the project was halted.   So these DuPont engineers put their heads together to determine what could be done with the scrapFirst Product

The answer was to reprocess the scrap into new products and DuPont built a research facility to see if this was possible.  That research facility still exists and is the heart of Solid Surface Acrylics.  We have greatly expanded since those first two research presses were installed in 10,000 square feet, and we now have over 80,000 feet and ten presses working three shifts per day.  In all this time, however, we continue to use those Corian chips from the near by DuPont plant to make our table tops and solid surface sheets.

And although those same engineers have since sold the business and retired, their spirit of innovation and quest for quality product manufacturing continues to live on in todays Solid Surface Acrylics.
